Under SEBI guidelines, the appointment of a Debenture/Bond Trustee is mandatory for all issues with a tenure of 12 months or more. The Trustee acts as an independent safeguard for investors, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and protecting the interests of debenture/bond holders.

  • Convene meetings of debenture/bond holders when requested by requisite majority.
  • Enforce security when necessary to protect investor rights.
  • Inform debenture/bond holders of any downgrade or revision in credit ratings by rating agencies.
  • Provide effective grievance redressal mechanisms for debenture/bond holders.
